Below, prospective tutors can find more information about the expectations of tutors that are part of the Tennessee Tutoring Corps.

Expectations:

Please note that each tutor will be assigned to a specific site of a partnering organization, which will provide further specifics on the schedule for the summer within the parameters outlined below. The partnering organization will provide tutors with additional information on the weekly schedule during the on-boarding process beginning May 24th including details on the July 4th holiday schedule.

  • Tutors are expected to begin tutoring Monday, June 7 and report to their assigned site for eight weeks, depending on the location to which they are assigned.

    • Please note that some applicants will have a revised schedule depending on the school schedule in the area.

  • Prior to beginning tutoring on June 7, tutors will be expected to complete any on-boarding requirements for the partnering organization as well as five scheduled online training modules the week of May 24th.

  • Tutors will work with 2 - 3 students for a total of 10 to 12 hours per week. Tutors should expect to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and no more than 12 hours per week.

  • Schedules will vary across sites, but tutors should expect to report to the tutoring site five days a week.

  • Each tutor will be eligible to receive a stipend of up to $1,000.
